PBSA includes two new cueists in team

KARACHI: The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) has added two new faces to the national team on Thursday for the World 6-Reds and Team Championship, raising its strength from 21 to 22 in the aftermath of Hamza Akbar’s exclusion, Dawn has learnt.

The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) have given its consent to Pakistan’s request to allow permission for inclusion of two players and re-shuffle the team after reigning Asian champion Hamza was barred by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) to compete due to his new-found status on pro-circuit.

The two new faces who were inducted in the team are Mohammad Bilal and Rambel Gul. Bilal has succeeded Hamza in the 6-Reds while in a minor change, Babar Masih, who was already selected, will team up with Shahram Changezi instead of Hamza.

Babar’s vacant place will be filled by Rambel who will form a pair with Mohammad Asif Toba.

Officials said Bilal had joined the camp on Thursday while Rambel is expected to report on Friday.
