PCB to launch website for budding players

MULTAN: In a bid to expand its outreach to young cricket talent, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to launch a website to enable talented young cricketers upload their videos to find space in domestic and international cricket.

Head coach of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Mohammad Akram said on Wednesday the PCB is working hard to re-energise domestic cricket at the regional level for the last two years and added that the regional cricket coaching programmes which used to be only few days long, would instead span weeks so that coaches have enough time to polish the skills of promising youngsters.

The ex-Pakistan paceman watched more than 200 fast bowlers at the Multan Cricket Stadium under the ‘Super Speed Star’ talent hunt programme jointly organised by the NCA and LG.

Akram said such programmes would also be launched to select talented batsmen and spinners in the near future.

Akram observed the young players who think they were overlooked would be able to upload their videos to exhibit their cricket skills and PCB would itself approach them and added the director game development was taking special interest in the initiative.
