Four death row prisoners to be hanged today

RAWALPINDI: Four death row prisoners will be executed on Wednesday in Attock and Adiala jails, police sources said.The sources said the prisoners were not involved in terrorism.

Among the three convicted prisoners who will be hanged in Attock jail two were father and son. They were convicted in a murder case took place in 1998 in Attock police area.

Four other condemned prisoners, two of them brothers, will be hanged in Adiala jail and district jail Jhelum on Thursday as their families had been asked to have their last meeting with them on Wednesday.

Execution of convicted prisoners had been suspended by the federal government before commencement of Ramazan, which had been resumed after Eidul Fitr as two condemned prisoners were executed in Multan jail on Monday.

Mohammad Aslam was arrested by the police for his involvement in a murder case in Choa Saidan Shah Chakwal in 2001. Since his death warrants were issued by the concerned court of law his family was intimated by the jail authorities for their last meeting with him which was held on Tuesday.

Two brothers, Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Azam, of Sari Alamgir were involved in robbery/murder case of 1999. They will be executed in the district jail Jhelum on Thursday morning

Since their death warrants had been issued by the concerned court of law, their last meeting with their families will be held on Wednesday in the jail.
