19 policemen punished
LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf has awarded punishment to 19 policemen including 10 former SHOs and nine others on charges of misconduct, illegal gratification, registration of fake FIRs and negligence in performance of duty.
An orderly room was held under the supervision of DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf at the Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, on Monday.
The DIG forfeited service and withheld annual increment of Milat Park SHO Inspector Naveed Akmal, Data Darbar SHO Inspector Javed Iqbal, Shafeeqabad SHO Inspector Shahid Ali, Iqbal Town SHO SI Mohammad Raza, Sanda SHO Nasir Hameed, Baghbanpura SHO Inspector Nasrullah, Sarwar Road SHO Inspector Zaheeruddin, Racecourse SHO Inspector Maqsood Ahmed, former Lohari Gate SHO Inspector Asad Mehmood Qureshi and SI Amjad Ali on charges of failing to provide security to Chinese businessmen, registration of fake FIRs and preparing fake diary of proclaimed offenders.
The DIG also withheld the annual increment of Inspector Mohammad Asif, SI Mohammad Ashraf, SI Mohammad Imran, SI Iftikhar Ahmed, Inspector Mohammad Aslam and ASI Rehmat Ali and dismissed Constable Zameerul Hassan from service for absence from duty.
He also imposed fine on senior clerk Mohammad Ibrahim and junior clerk Jahangir Safdar.
