THE Lyari Expressway is still incomplete because of encroachment by the land mafia. Even the Muslim League, the PPP and the MQM could not control the land mafia.

Last year Engineer Sohail Bhatti, who was working on the project, lost his life near NIPA. With all powers bestowed upon Rangers, apparently negotiations are still going on. The law-abiding citizens of Karachi believe that this is a case of now or never for the LEW to be completed.
