Khyber militants given three days to surrender

LANDI KOTAL: Political administration in Jamrud has issued ultimatums to five wanted militants to surrender to the authorities in three days, or their houses would be demolished.

Relevant officials said the five men were wanted to the local administration and security forces in an attack on FC convoy in Ghundi area of Jamrud in 2014.

They said the militants included Mohammad Rafiq, Hussain Ahmad alias Qari Shahzeb, Iraq Khan alias Shaheen, Munir alias Ali and Raziq alias Khalid.

In a written notice issued from the office of assistant political agent, the five wanted men were asked to surrender to the political administration in three days.

It said houses of the wanted men would be demolished if they failed to hand themselves over to the administration in the stipulated time.

Meanwhile, three people, two brothers among them, were killed in a road accident on Friday night near Jamrud.

Khasadar officials said Unar Khan, Gul Badin and Luqman were critically injured when a trailer fell into a ditch due to over-speeding near Shagai on the main Peshawar-Torkham highway.

The injured men were shifted to Jamrud civil hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. 

Security forces seized 269 kilograms of charas during a raid on Niyazi market in Bara on Saturday. No arrests were made during the raid. 

Meanwhile, Chitral Scouts replaced personnel of Mehsud Scouts on a number of checkposts in Bara. No reason for the replacement of Mehsud Scouts was immediately given by the force’s commanders in the area.
