Driving licences record to be computerised

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has started computerising the record of driving licenses issued from 1976 to 2000, police said.

The formal inauguration of ‘Old Record Feeding System’ was made by the pioneer chief of the force, the then SSP and incumbent DIG (Security) Dr Sultan Azam Temuri.

Dr Temuri appreciated the efforts of ITP personnel who are working round the clock to computerise the old data of manual licenses and said the whole record would be updated within few days for the convenience of the people.

He appreciated the SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob over his innovative steps to make ITP force more efficient.

SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob thanked Sultan Azam Temuri for always encouraging them and hailed his efforts for attaining all goals he set for himself including making the traffic police free of corruption and friendly during his tenure as traffic chief.

The SSP (Traffic) said that performance of this force would be further improved with focus on quality service and safe road environment in the capital.
