ISLAMABAD: The upcoming local bodies elections have thrown all political parties in the capital into action. The workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held a rally on Saturday night which passed from all the areas of NA-48 and finally culminated in Sector G-7 at 1:15am.

The rally led by PML-N leader Chaudhry Mohammad Ashraf Gujjar started from Sector I-8 and passed from all the sectors of I and G series. Participants were received by the sector units in the sector Markaz and residents of F and E sectors joined the rally in G-11.

Meanwhile, another rally started from Jhangi Syedan and after passing from all areas of NA-48, joined the main rally.

Mr Gujjar, who is a lawyer by profession, while addressing participants said that the rally was organised to celebrate the completion of two years of the PML-N government.

He said that during the last two years a number of infrastructure-related issues of the federal capital have been resolved.

“The longstanding issue of Kashmir Highway was resolved after the intervention of the prime minister who himself visited the road twice and ensured its completion. Metro Bus Service was completed and now work has been started to make the signal free road from Zero Point to Rawat,” he said.

“All the streets and roads in the residential sectors are being renovated. The project of a railway track from Islamabad to Murree and Muzaffarabad has also been announced,” he said.

He claimed that the government has been delivering at the national level and priority has been given to the resolution of the energy crisis.
