Toba bus stand to be shifted to bypass

TOBA TEK SINGH: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Waqas Alam directed on Thursday Regional Transport Authority Secretary Arooj Fatima and Toba Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Rana Ghulam Dastagir to find state land to shift the general bus stand from the city to bypass road.

He also asked them to construct a modern terminal. He said the measure would lessen traffic rush in the city.

The DCO also directed TMOs to arrange surveillance cameras at bus stands besides drinking water, fans in waiting rooms for passengers and rest rooms for drivers.

GANG-RAPE: Three boys, of Chak 423-JB, allegedly raped a girl, 17, at gunpoint at her home.

According to Gojra Saddar police, the complainant said seven boys broke into their house late on June 28, held the family at gunpoint and three of them gang-raped the girl in a room.

They also made a footage of the gang-rape.

Gojra DSP Atif Imran Qureshi visited the house of the alleged victim and assured her that the accused would be arrested at the earliest.
