Global warming

THE rise in temperature in several places on earth has been linked to human activity and the drastic effects of ‘global warming’ are mounting day by day.

Scientists deem two major actions being the key problem: burning fossil fuel and deforestation.

Certainly, the burning of fossil fuel releases carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with other dangerous greenhouse gases. The average level of carbon dioxide has amplified as much as 400ppm as compared to 180 naturally.

Besides, deforestation makes the problem worse. Losing trees means losing oxygen with gaining unlimited carbon dioxide. As a result, greenhouse gases get trapped, making the earth’s atmosphere unbearable. The icecaps melt, sea levels rise, strong storms start and droughts increase.

Recently, China was hit by a powerful flood, losing at least 57 people and many more missing.

In the same way, Karachi was affected by heatwave. For this reason, more than 1,288 citizens lost their lives. Moreover, nearly 1,000 died in India.
