Muqam for smooth gas supply to Peshawar areas

PESHAWAR: Taking exception to low gas pressure in parts of Peshawar during Ramazan, adviser to the prime minister Engineer Amir Muqam on Saturday directed the Sui Northern Gas Company Limited (SNGPL) to ensure smooth supply of gas to the consumers.

He was talking to a delegation of PML-N Peshawar led by the party’s provincial secretary information Nasir Khan Musazai here. The delegates informed Mr Muqam that gas pressure was so low that the people couldn’t cook food at sehr and iftar hours.

The SNGPL officials, who were also present on the occasion, assured of taking all possible measures for improving the gas pressure. Mr Muqam told the participants that he had initiated several projects in the NA-4 constituency in the past, but the successive governments failed to complete them as the local people belonged to PNL-N. However, he said he would not leave his supporters alone.

The PML-N leader said those claiming credit for the projects in the area should prove so with documentary evidence.

Mr Muqam also rejected the claim of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders regarding initiation of developmental schemes in the rural areas of Peshawar and said PTI had failed to materialise commitments with the people.

On the occasion, an independent town councillor, Nasrumminallah announced joining the PML-N.
