Gunmen attack ASWJ President and brother

ISLAMABAD: The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) president and his brother narrowly escaped an attempt on their lives on Friday night.

Police sources told Dawn the ASWJ President Ghulam Mustafa Baloch and his brother Ghulam Mujtaba Baloch were travelling in their car and when they reached Iqbal Hall two men began shooting at them.

Ghulam Mustafa Baloch received bullet injuries in his shoulder while his brother escaped unharmed. The police said that the gunmen fled the scene on a motorcycle.

After receiving information, the police reached the scene and shifted the injured to the hospital. According to the police, the ASWJ President is out of danger.

Following the incident, the police alerted patrolling staff and officials and pickets and the search for the attackers is in progress.
