CCPO warns of action over hate speech

LAHORE: The capital city police officer says action will be taken against those found guilty of misusing loudspeaker for hate speech and circulating hate literature during Ramazan under the National Action Plan (NAP).

CCPO Amin Wains was addressing members of the district peace committee at Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, on Thursday.

He said hate material’s printing and distribution and hate speeches would not be tolerated. He sought recommendations of the peace committee for security plan during Ramazan.

The CCPO said loudspeaker could be used only for the announcement of Sehr and Iftar, otherwise, action would be taken against the administration of mosques, Imambargahs and other worship places which would misuse loudspeaker.

REWARDED: Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera says the accountability and reward system has started in the police department.

He was addressing a prize distribution ceremony held to award the best performers in the regions of Sahiwal, Multan and DG Khan at the Central Police Office here on Thursday.

The IG distributed cash prizes among 19 officers, six from Sahiwal, 11 from DG Khan and two from Multan.
