Lesco official held for taking bribe

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested a Lesco official on charges of taking bribe for installing a meter.

According to an official, Line Superintendent Muhammad Rashid of Liaquatabad demanded Rs20,000 from a complainant to install a three-phase meter at his house.

An FIA team arrested Rashid red-handed while taking the bribe from the complainant. A case has been registered against the accused.

ACE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Friday arrested a policeman for taking bribe.

According to a spokesman, ASI Muhammad Boota of Naulakha police station was demanding Rs15,000 from complainant Zahid Majid to arrest an accused in a case.

The complainant gave him Rs10,000 but the ASI demanded the remaining amount to make any progress in the case.

Majid filed a complaint in the ACE that constituted a team and arrested the ASI red-handed while receiving Rs5,000 from the complainant. A case has been registered against the accused.
