Seven children hurt in grenade blast

TANK: Seven children were injured when a hand grenade they were playing with went off here on Wednesday.

Reports said that children found a hand grenade from a rainwater drain in Shiekh Otar village and brought it along mistaking it with a toy.

As soon as the children reached Mohallah Skeikhanwala they tried to snatch the grenade from each other. As a result, its pin got opened, causing it to explode. Seven children were injured in the explosion, who were taken to district headquarters hospital, Tank. Later, two of the injured were referred to DHQ hospital, Dera Ismail Khan in precarious condition.

The injured children were identified as Saqib, Mudassar, Kashif, Wajid, Fanoos, Alfah Bibi, and Shafana.
