Zone-VII win low-scoring tie

KARACHI: Zone-VII sealed a six-wicket victory after dismissing Zone-IV for a measly total of 77 in their Division-I fixture of the KCCA Under-15 Inter-zonal Cricket Tournament at the Pak Star Ground on Tuesday.

But in the Division-II tie played in the afternoon at the same venue, Zone-IV, inspired by three good performances, turned the tables on Zone-VII with an 81-run success.

Batting first, Zone-IV made 196-6 in the stipulated 30 overs with Hasan Ahmed (53 not out, seven fours and two sixes) and Mubashir Amin (51, two boundaries) playing major innings.

Off-spinner Mohammad Mubashir claimed four wickets for 16 runs as Zone-VII struggled to 115-9 in their reply.
