LAHORE: Two murder convicts were executed at the Kot Lakhpat Jail early on Tuesday.

The jail authorities had received death warrants for Muhammad Shakil and Sher alias Nawab Din after their mercy petitions were rejected by the president.

Shakil had killed a youth in 1997, while Sher was sentenced to death for murdering a man in Faisal Town.

The jail authorities handed over their bodies to families under tight security.
