‘Youth is hope, future of the country’

LAHORE: A group of 350 students and faculty members from the Lahore University of Management Science (Lums) visited the Corps Headquarters here and met Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naweed Zaman.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the corps commander while addressing the students said youth was the hope and future of this country. He also said that sacrifices being rendered by the army in the ongoing war against terrorism were meant to secure a peaceful environment to ensure a brighter future. He emphasised the need for wholehearted commitment by the youth towards attaining academic excellence as pursuance of education was the best way students could defeat the forces of retrogression.

Earlier, the students witnessed a demonstration by Quick Reaction Force. They were also imparted technical knowhow in weapon handling and small arms firing skills. The students also visited the border area. The daylong programme culminated with the flag-lowering ceremony at Wagah border.
