Helmet-wearing declared mandatory for motorcyclists

KARACHI: Helmet-wearing has been declared mandatory for motorcyclists, including pillion-riders, in the metropolis from June 1, the traffic police said on Tuesday.

Legal action would be taken against the motorcyclists who do not follow the order, according to DIG (Traffic) Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh. He said that the measure, which was taken by invoking relevant section of the Motor Vehicles Ordinance, would also apply to pillion-riders, including women.
