Question to senators

THIS is apropos the news item ‘Senators want increase in age-limit for CSS exam candidates’ (May15). The reason for such action was that aspirants from backward areas are not able to compete with candidates from urban areas. Therefore, the age-limit for CSS examinations should be enhanced to 35 years.

I want to ask the senators, who is responsible for the backwardness of those areas? Aren’t they representing them? Isn’t it better to develop and bring them on par with urban areas?

Instead of enhancing the age-limit for CSS examinations, it is better to work for the development and prosperity of backward areas.
