Drug pushers injure six of a family

KASUR: A gang of drug pushers on Friday shot at and injured six members of a family on suspicion that one of the injured had informed police about their activities at Kot Ghulam Muhammad.

According to complainant Bashir Ahmed, Fareed, Nadeem, Azeem, Saleem and Abdul Raheem were in the narcotics business. On preventing them from carrying out their activities, he said, the gang nurtured a grudge and opened fire at Ahmed’s family.

Six siblings Tanvir, Munir, Ahmed, Shahid, Baseer and Sagheer suffered bullet injuries and were taken to the DHQ hospital.

The B-Division police registered a case.

KILLED: Two motorcyclists were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision near Kacha Pakka village of Phoolnagar.

Najam and Shabbir died on the spot while Sajid and Naseem were hospitalised with serious injuries.

LIFE TERM: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday awarded life term to a convict and acquitted two others.

Javed Iqbal Warraich awarded life time to Idrees who had shot dead Mukhtar Ahmed over a petty issue in the Khudian police precinct. The court acquitted Amin and Mazhar for want of evidence.
