JI plans protest against death penalty to Morsi

KARACHI: The Jamaat-i-Islami on Friday announced its full support for former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, Ikhwanul Muslimeen leader Mohamed Badei, prominent Islamic scholar Yusuf Al-Qaradawi and other 100 leaders of the Ikhwan who have been awarded the death penalty by military courts of the Egypt judiciary.

The party also announced countrywide protest demonstrations against the unlawful act of the Egypt courts.

This was announced by JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch while addressing a protest demonstration staged outside the Karachi Press Club. Other JI leaders Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman, Abdul Wahab, Osama Razi, Barjees Ahmed, Muzaffar Hashmi, and Zahid Askari were also present on the occasion.
