BADIN: Six suspects arrested for allegedly slaughtering donkeys and supplying the meat to certain outlets in taluka Matli were produced before Matli Civil Judge Abdul Salam Khaskheli, who gave them into jail custody on a 14-day remand.

The suspects, identified as Bala aka Sargon, Dildar, Akram, Qasim, Sarwar and Riaz, were arrested by the Tando Ghulam Ali police, who booked them under the Slaughter Act. They were stated to be nomads.

The police said they travelled to Matli from Multan several years ago and used to buy weak and sick donkeys and other animals to slaughter them and sell their meat for a livelihood.
