KHAIRPUR: Strong winds followed by light showers hit Khairpur town and its surrounding areas late on Thursday evening causing considerable damage to the electricity network in the affected areas.

Most parts of the town remained without electricity for about 14 hours as strong winds uprooted many electricity poles. The city has been facing gas outages in several spells a day for weeks.
