HYDERABAD: In a vigorous drive against power theft and electricity bill defaulters, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) and the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) on Friday cut off thousands of illegal connections in Hyderabad and Sukkur divisions.

Power supply to a large number of bill defaulters was suspended and they were warned of legal action if the dues were not cleared.
