1,940kg unhygienic meat seized

LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore on Thursday seized 1,940kg unhygienic and dead animals’ meat from four illegal slaughterhouses at Kahna, Bedian Road and Dharampura.

According to Deputy District Officer (livestock) Dr Rahat Ali, the team first raided Kahna where it sealed two illegal slaughterhouses and seized unhygienic meat. Later, it sealed two other slaughterhouses, one each on Bedian Road and Dharampura.

“The unhygienic meat has been disposed of into the Ravi,” Mr Ali said, adding that cases were also registered against butchers.

BEGGARS: The special squad of the CDGL captured 18 beggars, including six women, from various parts of the city.

A spokesman said the beggars were captured from various points across the city and they were handed over to rehabilitation centres of Edhi and Subhani organisations.
