KARACHI: A week long Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sports Administration course for men’s and women’s begins at a local hotel on Monday with 29 officials belonging to Sindh attending it.

The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), headed by retired Lt Gen Syed Arif Hasan, has awarded the course to its Sindh chapter. A similar course was recently held at Lahore under the aegis of the Punjab Olympic Association.

According to SOA secretary Ahmed Ali, the POA has appointed Mian Mohammad Rafiq as course director. Pakistan Gymnastic Federation secretary Painda A Malik and POA secretary Mohammad Khalid Mahmood were also coming from Lahore to deliver lectures.

A total of 12 sessions spread over six days will be held followed by the review and evaluation and closing ceremony The POA chief will grace the closing and award diplomas to the participants.

The list include three women, three men from Hyderabad, one each from Sukkur and Sanghar, besides one from the Sindh government, Federal Urdu University, KMC and two from the SOA.

Women: Rubina Masum (tennis), Amna Qasim (judo) and Farah Yousuf (squash).
