VEHARI: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the PML-N has reservations over the election tribunal’s judgment on NA-125 poll and the party will have legal recourse against the verdict.

He said this while inaugurating various projects, including Sheikh Muhammad Din Trust Hospital for mentally challenged people at Dewan Sahib area of Burewala, here on Wednesday.

“We will take all legal actions in our capacity to fight against this (tribunal) judgment,” the chief minister said.

Pledging to his government would make Pakistan a developed country, he said: “We will put an end to loadshedding and unemployment. We will carpet all roads across Punjab within two years.”

Talking about agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed recently with China, he said such a huge investment was unprecedented.

“Of the $46 billion (Chinese expected investment), $20 billion are allocated for energy projects only,” he said.

“I ask the people of Pakistan to support us in our endeavours” he added.

He also inaugurated two roads -- Burewala-Luddan and Burewala-Chichawatni -- before paying a visit to Baba Haji Sher’s (RA) shrine.

The chief minister also inaugurated a kidney centre and a cardiology ward in the Burewala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

At the inauguration ceremony, he said the government was committed to good governance. He said the government heavily invested in health sector to have a healthy Pakistan.

In a reference to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf agitation, he said those who staged sit-ins were once again trying to stop the development process in the country and that people should remain alert and foil their designs.

The $20 billion Chinese investment would help abolish energy crisis in the country, he said, adding that these huge power projects would be completed by 2017.

He also opened a Rescue 1122 office in Burewala.

Later, district administration officials briefed the CM about wheat procurement situation at Vehari circuit house.

Shahbaz Sharif then visited the District Headquarters Hospital and inspected the on going construction work of the new emergency ward and kidney centre.

He also called on MNA Tehmina Daultana at Luddan MNA Tahir Iqbal.

Meanwhile, journalists covering the chief minister’s visit staged a protest at Dewan Sahib where a TV channel cameraman was subjected to torture by police. Later they called off the protest on an assurance by the district administration and police that the matter would be fairly probed into.
