No case against cops involved in trespass, loot

KASUR: The B-Division police are reluctant to register a case against an ASI and six other policemen for highhandedness, abuse of power and loot despite orders of a local court.

According to complainant Aftab Khan, ASI Qasim Jugar of Lahore’s New Anarkali police, along with five unidentified policemen, stormed his house at Kot Haleem Khan in the B-Division police area station on the night between April 2 and 3.

He said the policemen told him that they wanted to arrest his relative Irfan.

He said Irfan was not wanted in any case and the policemen not only manhandled the inmates including women but also took away eight tolas of gold ornaments and Rs45,000 in cash.

As the police higher-ups failed to do justice, he said he knocked at the door of court and on April 25, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Nawaz Marth ordered police to record the version of the petitioner under section 154 of CrPC and proceed further in accordance with law.
