Four ‘militants’ killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Four suspected militants were shot dead in an alleged encounter in the City’s Ittehad Town area on Saturday night, officials said.

A Counter-Terrorism Department official, Ali Raza, said a police party raided an alleged hideout of militants after security agencies provided them information that the Karachi chief of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (Swat) was there.

Mr Raza claimed that during the raid an exchange of fire took place during which four suspects were killed while the TTP Karachi Emir escaped.
