Sindh Assembly wants CHK named after Dr Adibul Hasan Rizvi

KARACHI: Paying tribute to a living legend of Pakistan, the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday unanimously demanded that the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) be named after Dr Adibul Hasan Rizvi in recognition of his outstanding services.

Members of the Sindh Assembly, including Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, recalled Dr Rizvi’s selfless services and termed The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) a model organisation.

They also suggested that the government send its newly inducted administrative officers there to see how government institutions could deliver to the people.

Pakistan Muslim League-Functional lawmaker Saeed Khan Nizamani tabled a resolution, which reads: “The assembly pays tributes to Dr Adibul Hasan Rizvi for his meritorious services of providing health facilities continuously to the people of Pakistan. His services would always be remembered in the history and the way he is serving is an example for us.

“This assembly must recommend that the name of Civil Hospital Karachi be replaced with the name of Dr Adibul Hasan Rizvi Civil Hospital, Karachi.”

The resolution, when put to a vote in the house after speeches, was unanimously adopted.

Speaking on the resolution, Mr Nizamani said that Dr Rizvi’s services for humanity were outstanding and at the SIUT treatment was provided without any discrimination between the rich and the poor.
