Biometric system launched at Larkana BISP

LARKANA: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chairperson Marvi Memon launched the biometric system established at the regional centre of BISP office here on Monday to ensure transparency in the disbursement of stipend among the beneficiaries.

To ensure clarity and error-free distribution of stipend, the first-ever biometric system had been launched here as a pilot project, she said. Such a modern method of verification of genuine beneficiaries would also be established in other provinces of the country, she added.

She said the government was making efforts to increase the number of beneficiaries to five million by the next year and in this regard, a survey was in progress throughout the country to include more deserving women in the BISP net.
