Seven killed in Shangla road accident

ALPURI: Seven people were killed and two others injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine here on Friday.

Reports said that the vehicle (PSD-627) was on way from Bisham to Ranolia in Kohistan, but when it reached near Lahor nullah it fell into a deep gorge while negotiating a sharp turn in the mountainous area.

As a result, seven passengers identified as Taj Mohammad (driver), Mohammad Ayub, Mohammad Khan, Perogh Dada Khan, Chohan, Janat Bibi and Tufail, were killed on the spot, while two others, Shah Faisal and Masud, suffered critical wounds.

The local residents and police reached the spot and retrieved the bodies and the injured persons. The bodies were dispatched to their native towns while the injured were taken to Saidu Teaching Hospital, Swat.

The Lal Mohammad Shaheed police station, Bisham registered report of the accident and began further investigations.
