Asia Deaf T20 Cup to begin on 20th

LAHORE: Four-nation first Asia Deaf T20 Cup is being held here from April 20 to 26 on different grounds.

The competition begins with the opening match between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

India and Sri Lanka are two other participating teams.

The match between arch-rival India and Pakistan will be played on April 24.

The final is being held at the Gaddafi Stadium, while other league matches at the LCCA ground.

The event is being organised by the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association (PDCA).

The mega event will be inaugurated in a colourful ceremony to be staged at the Sabzazar ground on Sunday while the opening match between Pakistan and the Afghanistan will be played at the LCCA ground on April 20.

PDCA president Abdul Salam said at a press conference that all arrangements to provide foolproof security to the visiting teams had been completed.

Salam further said the PDCA had invited six teams for the event but only three agreed to come.

Pakistan coach Umar Fayyaz said their 15-member squad was selected after nationwide trials.

He expressed hope his side would live up to nation’s expectations.

The final will be played on April 26 where Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar M. Khan will be the chief guest.

April 20: Pakistan vs Afghanistan, LCCA ground.

April 21: India vs Sri Lanka, LCCA ground.

April 22: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, LCCA ground.

April 23: India vs Afghanistan, LCCA ground.

April 24: Pakistan vs India, LCCA ground.

April 25: Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan, LCCA ground.

April 26: Final.
