Property tycoon’s name removed from FIR

ISLAMABAD: The names of Bahria Town chairpersons Malik Riaz and his son were taken off from a case registered on Monday on a complaint by Ijaz Rafi Butt.

On Monday, Nilor police registered an FIR against the property tycoon and his son following their nomination by the complainant in a trespassing case.

However, shortly after the registration of the FIR, directives were issued by senior police officers to exclude the two men’s names from the FIR.

According to police, Nilor Station House Officer Aslam Kalyar wrote in the case file that the investigation had cleared Malik Riaz and his son in the matter.

A Bahria Town spokesperson told Dawn the names of both men were removed from the case because their involvement was based on an allegation. The Nilor SHO was not available for comment.
