Threatening SMS sender booked under ATA

RAWALPINDI: The police have registered a terrorism case against an unidentified person for sending a threatening text message to the crisis control centre of the Nur Khan Airbase.

Mohammad Bilal Zaidi, a senior officer at the control centre, complained to the Airport police that he received a threatening text message on his mobile phone at his workplace on Friday.

He said the message sender threatened to attack the Nur Khan airbase and other installations in the near future.

Shortly after the threatening text message was received, security around the airbase and other installations was put on ‘red alert’.

The police said a case was registered against the unidentified person under section 7 of the Anti-terrorism Act and 25-D of the Telegraph Act.
