Students caught cheating in exams

KHAR: Scores of students were on Saturday caught cheating during the ongoing secondary school certificate examination at various examination centres in Bajaur.

Sources said that the action was taken by the controller of examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chakdara, Mushtaq Khan, during surprise visits to various examination centres.

During the raids, the official found over 80 students cheating, and also seized books, manuals and other materials from them.

The sources said most of students who were caught cheating belonged to the Governor Model School, Khar, one of the best and expensive educational institutions in the agency.

At least 76 students were found cheating in the presence of examination staff during the chemistry paper in the Governor Model School, Khar, said the sources. According to them, the board official showed anger over the fact that the examination staff had allowed students to cheat.

He directed the relevant officials to curb cheating at the examination centres by ensuring strict checking of students before entering the examination centres.
