Pakistan's Maria Toor beat South Africa's Siyoli Waters in a hotly-contested final to win the 2nd Bahria Town International Women's Squash Championship in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Maria, who hails from Waziristan, had defeated second seed Nadine Shahin of Egypt in the quarter-final before taking down Malaysia's Teh Min Jie in the semi-final to set up a clash with top seed Siyoli Waters in the grand finale of the event which carried a prize money of $10,000.

Spurred by the home crowd support, Maria overcame Siyoli 11-9, 11-7, 6-11, 10-12, 12-10 after a high-octane 46-minute battle.

Maria, who put her name in the history books by winning the first ever women’s event in the Nash Cup and is coached by Jonathan Powers of Canada, claimed her third WSA title after her win Rawalpindi.
