Pindi braces for anti-dengue drive

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar on Saturday stressed the need of close coordination at divisional and district level to check the dengue mosquito larvae at all potential breeding places.

Reviewing dengue control measures at a meeting in Rawalpindi, he asked the elected representatives to take part in the anti-dengue campaign.

The meeting was attended by Rawalpindi commissioner Zahid Saeed, MNAs Tahira Aurangzeb, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Maryam Aurangzeb, PML-N president Sardar Naseem and government officials.

The minister also sought equipment and other resources from the federal government departments.

The officers of irrigation department, Rawalpindi, have been assigned the task to prepare data of dengue patients to be admitted in private hospitals and monitor the flow of patients to teaching hospitals by private hospitals.

Commissioner Rawlapindi Zahid Saeed said, heavy rain fall and present environment was conducive for larva breeding but assured to eradicate it.
