Islamiat for minority

ACCORDING to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) policy, general recruitment tests comprises English, everyday science, current affairs, Pakistan affairs and Islamiat.

It becomes hard for religious minority candidates to tackle this as they do not have in-depth knowledge of Islamiat. As a result, many minority candidates are unable to show their mettle in the test and are deprived of their right to compete on an equal footing.

In CSS examinations, there exists a rule according to which a minority candidate can opt for Islamiat or otherwise. If the candidate does not opt for Islamiat, then marks obtained in Pakistan affairs are considered as a substitute of Islamiat.

The policy regarding this matter needs serious consideration and must be revised.
