SC moved for action against Altaf, Ibad

LAHORE: The Supreme Court has been asked to bring MQM chief Altaf Husain back to Pakistan through Interpol and remove Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad in the light of statements by Saulat Mirza, a death row prisoner and a former worker of the party.

Filed by Barrister Zafarullah Khan of the Watan Party, the petition further asks the court to place Ibad on the exit control list and order an action against parliamentarians of the MQM for their involvement in criminal activities as stated by Mirza.

Barrister Khan says the allegations leveled by Mirza against Mr Husain and Mr Ibad were very serious and required to be investigated. He asks the court to bring the MQM chief back through Interpol and remove Ibad as governor for fair investigation.
