Air corridor for flypast will be secured

RAWALPINDI: The police have been directed to secure highrise buildings on either side of the air corridor air force planes will be using for flypast on Pakistan Day.

According to the police, city police officer Rawalpindi Israr Ahmed Abbasi had been asked to comb high rise buildings and keep them under surveillance until the Pakistan Day parade is over.

The sources said the areas which will be under surveillance included Gujar Khan, Rawat, Mandra and G.T. Road.

A joint military parade will be held in Islamabad after a gap of seven years.

A senior police official said unlike previous years, foolproof security would be put in place for the parade.

Besides involving different security agencies, snipers will be deployed on buildings falling on the air corridor and places where people are working or living.

Furthermore, the police and security officials have already started combing the areas around the parade venue.
