Senator Waqar joins QWP

PESHAWAR: Known political figure Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan of Dera Ismail Khan along with his relatives on Friday announced joining the Qaumi Watan Party.

The announcement was made during a ceremony at the residence of QWP chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan in the University Town here on Friday. Mr Waqar was also accompanied by his supporters from the area.

Mr Sherpao welcomed Mr Waqar into the party, and highlighted his role in the mainstream politics. He expressed the hope that the senator’s decision would help resolve problems facing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He claimed that QWP had the credit that politicians belonging to different political parties were joining it due to its public welfare policies development agenda.

Mr Sherpao said that his party was determined to continue fight for the rights of the oppressed people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who had been affected by the menace of terrorism.

The QWP leader also urged the government to pay proper attention to the solution of the problems facing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Waqar said that he had announced joining QWP after consultation with his people, adding that at present it was the only party that was struggling for rights of the province.

QWP’s central general secretary MPA Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, central vice chairman Shujaul Mulk Khan and central secretary information Saleem Khan were also present on the occasion.
