QUETTA: Chief of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Sardar Akhtar Mengal on Friday said that people raising their voice for rights were being labeled as terrorists in the province.

He expressed these views while submitting nomination papers of BNP-M's candidate Dr. Jehanzaib Jamaldini for the Senate polls in the election commission's office.

Mengal lamented that those raising voice for rights were being targeted in mountains and deserts of the province.

"Here they act then plan," the BNP-M chief said while responding to a question regarding implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

He stated that such plans were nothing new for Balochis since they were already facing use of force.

About Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's announcement for initiating dialogue with disgruntled Baloch leadership, he said, "first of all they have to please their own angry legislators then speak about Balochis".

Mengal said differences have already surfaced among coalition parties in the Senate elections.

"They have to put their own house in order," the BNP-M leader said.

Responding to a question about Senate elections, Sardar Akhtar Mengal said, "we neither purchase nor sell votes".

He stated that the BNP-M was trying to form an alliance with political parties for Balochistan’s development and prosperity.

He said BNP (Awami) had already announced its decision to back Dr. Jehanzaib Jamaldini as a candidate in the Senate elections.
