Dutch national arrested near Pak-Afghan border

PESHAWAR: Security forces on Wednesday arrested a Dutch national in Khyber Agency near the Pak-Afghan border.

Sources said the Afghan-origin Dutch national Ahmed Karemi son of Harimohamad Karemi was arrested by security forces when he was leaving for Afghanistan.

According to sources, Karemi had no legal documents and was handed over to the special branch police for further investigation.

In the wake of the Peshawar school carnage, border authorities have been strictly checking travel documents of commuters at the border. However, locals say routine travel has gone down after the tragic attack on Peshawar's Army Public School in December last year which left more than a hundred students and faculty dead.
