CDA issues notices to food vendors

ISLAMABAD: Special teams of Health Services Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted raids across the city and issued notices to 15 vendors and issued fines to eight for selling unhygienic, substandard and adulterated food items.

According to the official statement, teams have confiscated cracked and chipped plates and other utensils and destroyed them.

Health Services Directorate said that each team is led by a food inspector and their performance is being reviewed by the authority on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed said that operations against the sale of substandard and unhygienic food items and drinks will continue so that availability of quality food is ensured in the city.

He said that stern action would be taken against those violating rules and regulations and the campaign against vendors of unhygienic food items would continue.
