LHC asks ATC judges to expedite cases disposal

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday directed the judges of the anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) in Punjab to expedite disposal of cases.

Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, being administrative judge of ATCs, and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, presided over a meeting to review cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

Justice Malik expressed his satisfaction over working of the courts and directed the judges to expedite the cases as per spirit of the law and also demanded other stakeholders, including police, to complete investigation of the cases and to arrest the proclaimed offenders.

All the judges of ATCs of Punjab, Member Inspection Team (MIT) Ch Shahid Naseer, Additional MIT Muhammad Iram Ayaz, secretary Home Department, officiating additional secretary prosecutor, inspector general prisons, additional inspector general (investigation) Punjab, DIG crime, Lahore, director admin, Punjab Forensic Science Agency and all the regional police officers of Punjab attended the meeting.
