LDA sets ToRs of commission

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) issued on Friday terms of references of the commission that will ensure rights of the people in terms of property purchase, selling, allotment, transfer, cancellation and others.

The LDA has established office of the commission at Quaid-e-Azam Town (Township) area office, at 3-Civic Centre, near Hamdard Chowk.

According to an LDA spokesman, the commission has been constituted under section 32 of the LDA Act (Amended-2013).

“The commission will only hear the cases related to rights of bonafide purchasers and the disputes occurred before issuance of the aforementioned amended act on December 16, 2013. It will not too hear the cases being proceeded/trailed in any court of law. However, it may hear such cases if the plaintiffs withdraw their cases from the court and submit these to it along with an affidavit,” the spokesman explained.

He said commission’s decision could also be challenged in court of law. Anyone claiming themselves as real or bonafide purchaser/owner of any property can move the commission to resolve issues cancellation or changing of ownership. Similarly, the matters related to unlawfully developed housing schemes could also be brought into notice of the commission.

The spokesman said the applicants seeking submission of such cases to the commission would have to mention the things proving their claim as genuine one.

“They will have to deposit a fee of Rs5,000 for processing each case by the commission at the LDA’s one window cell (HBL bank booth) by writing on the challan “Processing Fee of Bonafide Purchaser -69056,” he added.
