Modi wants strong ties, says Lankan PM

Colombo: Sri Lanka wanted to go beyond strengthening traditional ties with India to strengthening economic ties and it “augurs well for us that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is interested in our country” and the region, Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said on Monday.

Mr Wickremesinghe was speaking at a reception hosted by the Indian High Commission to mark the Republic Day.
