4,000 teachers to be recruited in Balochistan soon: CM

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch urged people on Sunday to equip their new generation with education.

Speaking after inaugurating a model school in the Sanni Shoran area of Kachhi Bolan district, he said 4,000 teachers would soon be recruited across the province through the National Testing System.

The chief minister said his government had pledged to resolve issues of education and health sectors on a priority basis because it knew that no goals of progress and prosperity could be achieved without promotion of education.

He urged teachers to change their attitude and said “a large number of teachers have been drawing salary sitting at home, instead of taking classes”.

He said the government would introduce a system to monitor attendance of both teachers and students at schools.

A grant of Rs50 million would be released to Sanni Shoran model school to upgrade it with all modern facilities and equipment, he said, adding that another grant of Rs200m would be released for provision of potable water in Bhag city.

“We will construct large and small dams to store rainwater,” he said.

Mr Baloch said special measures would be taken to resolve the power crisis in Balochistan on the instructions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said politicians belonging from the Nasirabad division remained in high offices for a long time, but their area was still deprived of basic civic amenities. People of the area might migrate to other provinces if their due share of water was not provided them, he feared.

Balochistan Assembly Speaker Jan Mohammad Jamali, provincial minister Mohammad Khan Shahwani and former federal minister Yar Mohammad Rind also attended the function.
